Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good water pressure and quick hot water. The only problem was the complimentary breakfast. We were given vouchers for a diner and were refused honor of a voucher for my daughter under 1. She was able to eat food but was quickly and unfairly denied.
I would recommend the king suite to any couple staying for a concert at Royal Oak Theater, only about a 15 minute walk through a vibrant shopping district.
Who doesn't remember the great park outside your door motor inns? Hip , VERY clean , renovated classic motor inn. With updated new classic decor to match. Attentive friendly front desk. Comfort from bed to bath. Breakfast options next door were very good. I recommend The H signature king room. Good coffee in lobby.
I've stayed here twice and would definitely stay many times more! The hotel is very clean and cozy and the staff is always kind and helpful. HRO is located a short walk from downtown Royal Oak and about fifteen minutes from Detroit, making it a great central location. Although there's no onsite breakfast, they do offer a voucher for a café next door that's good for a small free meal or a discount off a bigger portion (their food is great). Overall it's a good quality hotel surrounded by things to do!
Super friendly staff. I actually left a shirt behind and they called me twice before tossing it after a month. That's pretty considerate.
If you are concerned about hotel/motel semantics, be sure to review pictures prior to your visit. This is a nicely renovated motel with modern styled rooms. The bathroom had a great square waterfall shower head. The bed was very comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly. The breakfast vouchers are a nice touch, and the restaurant offers generous portion sizes for a very reasonable price.
